Acknowledge your colleagues for being awesome by clicking here! | Staff Recognition ResultsRachel Bellamy Rachel is always so willing to help me with my many, many gradebook questions. She must be annoyed by the incessant questions, but she sure doesn't show it! Isaac Rodenbough You can always count on Isaac and he always has your back. He's truly AMAZING!!! I can't say enough good things about Isaac! He holds us together! Reeder Tabitha Pacheco Tabitha is one of the people who works tirelessly (and often thanklessly) to hold our UTVA SpEd team together. She is so supportive and makes sense of the rigorous details, paperwork, and compilancy of Special Education. We'd be lost without her knowledge, attention to detail, and support. She has helped compile, train, and uplift the most supportive professional team I have ever worked with. Wendy Rush Shay Anderson Shay is a fearless leader who is organized and makes PLCs meaningful with a plan and clear communication. - Homeroom: Find your new students in your homeroom and make them your priority for Welcome Calls and getting them off to a strong start. Also seek out students who struggled last quarter and give them a motivational boost. Let's get all our kids off to an outstanding start this quarter!
- Auto-Messaging: Make sure that you are auto-messaging your students for attendance each day. Set a strong message that not attending class isn't okay by being consistent with your messages. Track approvals will be made later in the week so it is essential to message anyone who misses class right off the bat! If they qualify for a track, they will be annoyed by the messages and will get their application filled out ASAP!
- Tracker Task: Start the year strong by coming up with a plan to move your red kids. We need to do all we can to get kids working in our courses.
- Orientations: Make sure that you track down students that missed your orientation. Send them your orientation recording via kmail and/or email.

It's time to finish. We've worked really hard and it takes grit, passion and commitment to finish strong. Part of being fulfilled and finding joy in your job is knowing you did the best you possibly could to teach, inspire and help many of our students rise above their situations.
We can do this as a team, let's help and support each other this week! Recognize those who help you along your path by clicking here!

Announcements
I sincerely hope all of you had a wonderful, relaxing, restful, enjoyable Holiday Break! I was able to reset and my fire for helping as many kids as possible!
As we embark into these last two weeks, I challenge you to do something you haven't done to encourage/inspire students to believe in themselves and get some work done. Let's let go of the annoyance for now that they have waited until now and be accepting of their efforts. I know this is hard, but it just might be the start of something great for the following blocks!
Keep yourself sane! Remember to Schedule, prioritize, make lists and when you're working, work hard, when you're not disengage completely. It's not an easy task to wear two hats like we do working from home but it is possible for the two hats to thrive but it does take work, effort and planning!
